IoT-The masterplan to a connected world
“It’s not that we use technology, we live in technology” -Godfrey Reggio.
Technology not only restrict to a computer-based gadget but can incorporate in every electronic device, from ceiling fans to driverless cars, IoT has become the new and the most promising emerging technological field today.
“The Internet of Things (IoT)—a sophisticated network of objects embedded with electronic systems that enable them to collect and exchange data”- it’s changing our lives.
Who would have believed a decade ago that your phone could control your home appliances?
That’s the power of IoT. It has brought the whole world into our hands.
Still, wondering where IoT can use in today’s world?
Heard of Smart Homes?
Where all the household devices for example – fans, Air Conditioners, geysers, lights even the doors can link with one’s smartphone.
What about Smart farming?
So, the population level is increasing at a tremendous rate, the government is working with farmers and inventing smarter technologies. Using IoT sensors in the field, precision in deciding the crop to grow depending upon parameters like rain, moisture, humidity has put to use to predict maximum profit for the farmers.
In our local community, IoT can prove to be extremely advantageous for senior citizens and disabled people.
In the field of Healthcare, based upon various health parameters like heart rate, BP rate, etc, anomalies can be detected and the nearby hospital can be contacted. Thus, owing to IoT, lives can save.
So for people with disabilities, having control of all devices(like household appliances, automotive) can ease their work to a certain level.
For security purposes,, take for example the case of any theft, the nearby police station can be contacted immediately and proper measures can be taken.
Thus, From IoT based robots performing complex surgeries to a simple ceiling fan, IoT finds its application in all fields.
In conclusion, one cannot deny the increased comfort and convenience which would thereby improve the quality of life by IoT.
